We are so excited to share with all of out that our friend Annie O’ Neill, who earned a Bachelor in Journalism from the University of Missouri and is a former staff photographer The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Pulitzer Prize nominee, has an exhibition at the Filmmakers Gallery in Oakland displaying two series that she has been dedicated to. One series which she has been working on for more than 15 years examines individuals who have been worked for 50 years or more at the same job. The second series, named Uniformity, is a collection of color photographs that reveal people through the uniforms that they wear
For her 50 Years of Service series, she photographed an extensive group of professionals, ranging from former White House journalist Helen Thomas and Pittsburgh Steelers Defensive Coordinator and NFL Hall of Famer Dick Lebeau to cobblers, farmers and professional from all walks of life. Her work is on view from March 21 through April 17, 2011 with the opening reception will be held on Friday, March 25 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. It is free and open to the public.We hope to see you there!
