Adrienne and Jason were married in Johnstown, Pennsylvania at the Emmanuel Baptist Church and their reception downtown at the Pasquerilla Conference Center. This was the first time Elizabeth or I have been to Johnstown, and my first thoughts upon arriving(and of most hockey fans probably) was of the classic movie Slapshot starring Paul Newman, which was filmed in the city back in the 1970’s. Adrienne and Jason live in Jacksonville, so it was the first time that we met them also after nearly of year of planning through phone conversations.
They are such an adorable couple who enjoyed every moment they had with each other on what can be turned into a stressful day (If you let it. We don’t recommend that!) The girls had a blast getting ready at the hotel and the laughter was broken on when Adrienne read Jason’s card and began crying. Jason and his groomsmen got ready at his best man’s house, and aside from dressing like they were going to a wedding, it felt more like a group of really close friends at a fraternity house. The moment I remember more than any occurred inside of the pastors office, where Jason sank a golf put into a plastic cup and his emphatic celebration, minutes before he was getting married.
Adrienne cried as she walked sown the aisle, looking at Jason the entire way. Most of the bridesmaids cried happy tears as well and there was more laughter and fist pumps than the average wedding ceremony! Their reception rocked from Adrienne and Jason’s introduction through the last dance where all of the guests surrounded the new married couple. Adrienne & Jason, Elizabeth and I had such a special time with you both and we are so thrilled for you both!
