Lisa and Randy were married at the Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church with their reception at The Renaissance Hotel in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Lisa got ready in the August Wilson Room and it was one of the most emotional few hours that I’ve experienced in a while. For a variety of reasons, their were tears flowing from all over the room! There was also constant bursts of laughter, which made for an incredible time.
It continued at the start of their ceremony, at the Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in Oakmont. Lisa’s dad, because of health reasons, was not sure if he would be able to walk his daughter down the aisle. As Randy waited excitedly at the front of the altar, her dad found the strength to participate in their special moment and Lisa did not stop crying until the ceremony had begun!
Aside from all of the emotion involved and the beautiful ceremony, what also stuck out in my mind from their service was their adorable ring bearer, who could not sit still! I tried not to overdo the photographs of him on the blog, but I have have more than enough photographs of him with various faces to create his own blog post!
The reception at The Renaissance Hotel was incredibly lively and fun! Tony Lee, wedding coordinator at the hotel, surprised Lisa and Randy with a sneak peak of the room. When they entered, they had music playing and had an impromptu private first dance!
The energy on the dance floor was insane and it seemed like everyone was involved! Randy was more than happy to participate in many of the Greek traditions, including taking a shot, while laying on the ground and using no hands! The final dance of the night yielded the wildest of the Greek traditions, breaking dishes on the floor. Now, they did have to take extra precautions to prevent the dance floor from being destroyed, but they pulled it off and ended their night in grand fashion!
Lisa and Randy, I had such an awesome time photographing your wedding and Elizabeth and I wish you the best of luck in your future together! Congratulations!!
