We are asked often, what is the craziest thing that has ever happened at a wedding? Our response has always been that nothing crazy happens, it’s not like the movies. We’ll, we finally have a story after Michele and Rich’s wedding. They were getting married at St. Paul’s Cathedral, which just happened to be smack dab in the middle of the filming of the new Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises”. Michele was concerned because she had her heart set on doing her portraits at the columns at Carnegie Mellon Institute, but they were to be filming a fight scene there at the same time. Michele was persuasive, and the producer eventually made provisions to stop production for 15 minutes so we could do the shoot.
Everything went as planned, we completed the shoot and on our way out we noticed the Batmobile. Rich asked if they could get a photograph with it and was told no immediately. As we were leaving, a man doing a documentary about the filming of the movie asked if they would like to get an up close look! So we turned around and to the delight of all of the onlookers, Rich and Michele both climbed into the Batmobile! A video that was shot made it’s way to YouTube where they had more than 23,000 views within a day or two! A few of our photographs were featured on WPXI news and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and now their wedding is being referred to as “The Batman Wedding!”
Aside from those few minutes of Batmadness, Michele and Rich had one of the greatest weddings! The reception was at Heinz Field and here is their incredible wedding story in photographs!
