I met Janine and Andrew at her sister Lauren’s wedding last march, also, in Louisville. I was honored when she called the next month to tell us she was engaged and was hoping I could shoot her wedding! Their ceremony and reception were held at the Henry Clay, which used to be a historic hotel built in 1924 and is a classic building. For me, I really enjoy pressure situations and this was it for me. Elizabeth, six hours away back home in Pittsburgh, was pregnant with our third child! My biggest fear was getting the phone call while I was away and not being there, but Elizabeth had assured me that everything was fine. She kept in touch with me the entire day through text which relieved all of my fears and I could focus totally on the wedding!
While getting ready, Janine didn’t seem nervous to me. It wasn’t until I saw her let loose on the dance floor later that evening did I realize how reserved she was being earlier! “Oh, you haven’t seen her wild side!” her mom said to me as she took over the dance floor! Andrew was cool and calm, showing off his talents and love for Janine by singing (with his brother on guitar) ” Better Together” by Jack Johnson during the reception. His brother also gave an extremely heartfelt, flattering best man speech to Andrew that was so wonderful to hear. It was a beautiful wedding with so many great moments! Here is their wedding story!
