Kathryn and Jeb were married at The Presbyterian Church in Sewickley with their reception held at the fantastic Allegheny Country Club a few minutes away. it was a beautiful August day and both Kathryn and Jeb got prepared at the club. It was extremely emotional with the girls, with hugs given and tears shed as different family and friends made appearances to see Kathryn as she got ready for the ceremony. The hours before the wedding are so unique. Seeing Kathryn and her mother together, and how important their relationship is, is special. The guys enjoyed themselves with lunch and then relaxed with a few cigars. They were much less emotional! Which is generally the case with the guys!
One they were at The Presbyterian Church, Kathryn prepared to walk down the aisle with her dad (Big Jim, as he is known!). She was wiping away tears and as soon as Jeb saw his bride, he was wiping them away from his eyes as well. Their ceremony was classic and quick and at the conclusion they were led out of the church behind a bagpiper. As you can tell from the photographs, the moments after the ceremony were extremely emotional. Kathryn and Jeb were driven to the reception in a classic car and I followed right behind. Moments later, I saw the flashing lights in my rear view mirror! I was being pulled over by a police officer. He told me I wasn’t allowed to make a right turn out of the church. I explained, rather emphatically, that I was following the car to to their wedding and I needed to go! He wasn’t happy, but he let me go. It turned out the officer was wrong for pulling me over in the first place, a right turn is allowed at that spot!
My heart returned to it’s appropriate rate when I met them at the reception minutes later. Kathryn and Jeb were introduced to thunderous applause and started the evening with a touching first dance. They partied the night away, with the band In the Mood absolutely giving a spectacular performance that kept the dance floor going the entire night. Jeb is from Cleveland, so there were moments when Terrible Towels were whirled and times when they were also shunned by those in attendance from Ohio. It was a sensational evening and Elizabeth and I were so thrilled that Kathryn and Jeb trusted us with their memories. Congratulations, we are thrilled for you both!!
