Rosemary and Zachary were married on a warm late summer Saturday at St. Rafael Parish and the Wyndham Grand Garden Room in Downtown Pittsburgh. I met Rosemary and her family at their house and it immediately brought me back to my childhood. A big Italian family, tons of food and love everywhere. They even were getting together a few days after the wedding to spend an entire day to make their homemade sauce! While the girls were getting ready, her mom insisted that I take a minute to eat a sandwich and I knew better than to argue! Nervous energy filled the air that morning, as Rosemary was constantly being hugged and kissed by members of her family. When she wasn’t being asked if she needed anything from her sisters Jessica and Sarah, she was being fed her lunch by father so she didn’t get any food on her dress.
Zach was ready at the church and he was quiet, very focused on the day. Their ceremony was extremely sweet and emotional and ended with a traditional military sword slap on Rosemary’s butt as they left the church. After shooting a few portraits at Duquesne University where they went to school (including a stop at the Red Ring Restaurant where they met and both worked), they partied the night away at The Wyndham Grand Garden Room. It seemed to be on cue, but as soon as the dancing picked up, fireworks were visible through all of the windows from Heinz Field, where the PIttsburgh Panthers football game just ended. Zach’s brothers nearly stole the show with their dance moves and endless energy. Rosemary and Zach honeymooned in Alaska and recently moved to North Carolina where Zach’s military duties have taken them. Elizabeth and I feel lucky to have grown close to their family, and her wonderful sisters have been fantastic babysitters to our family. They even invited us to make sauce next year at their home! Congratulations Rosemary and Zach, we are so happy for you both!
